Prof. Sven Maričić, PhD, specialises in additive technologies (3D printing), robotics, and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on their application in medicine and biomodelling. He is one of the European pioneers in applying 3D printing in biomedicine and has led the development of the first 3D-printed implants and reconstruction procedures in Croatia.
He has extensive academic experience as a professor at Juraj Dobrila University of Pula and the University of Rijeka, as well as a visiting professor in Austria. He is the Head of the Laboratory for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and the Centre for Biomodelling and Medical Innovation. His research and innovation work has been recognised with numerous awards, including the Croatian State Award for Science, the European Innovative Teaching Award, and multiple international innovation medals. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in science popularisation, mentoring startup teams, and participating in science and technology festivals.
He is also a musician and integrates music into science outreach projects.
